Lovely antique 18-carat gold, miniature, and pearls locket.
This lovely pendant, in neo-Louis XVI style, is inspired by the 18th century.
What does the miniature represent? Is it an innocent genre painting of three young people? Or is it a much more daring scene from the rich iconography of prostitution? On closer inspection, it seems that the miniature depicts a matchmaker throwing a young woman into the arms of a young man.
